Stuck with your game?
Then this is the most important message you could ever read...
... but only if you read it and pay attention.

At the time I'm writing this, the nights are drawing out to give a grand stretch to the day. Cause for celebration of the inevitable arrival of spring, right?
But.
It also means in just a few weeks, in a couple of weeks' time the year is a quarter over. That's 25% for anyone hard of thinking.
Wow.
The upshot is... if you aren't 1/4 of the way to achieving the goals you set yourself about your game at the beginning of the year, then it's likely gonna smack you around the face like a wet kipper when you realise...
... the year is slipping away from you.
Maybe you started the year with some golfing goals — lowering your handicap, conquering the short game, and finally breaking through some frustrating plateaus?
But now, with the calendar speeding away from you, it's hard not to feel like maybe the window of opportunity is rapidly closing.
Kinda slamming shut in your face, to be fair.
It’s tempting to tell yourself next year will be different, isn't it?
I'm not kidding. I've had people tell me already, this early on, 2025 is a "holding year" for them. O' course... next year will be (somehow) different.
Yeah, right.
You could easily craft a satisfying narrative to convince yourself you’ll refocus come next January, with a fresh slate and renewed vigour. Do that and you can safely coast the rest of the year and nebulously "settle" into your game.
Think I've never heard all that before?
Of course I have.
Every. Single. Day.
Look... if you’re honest, this is a story you’ve told yourself before.
It’s a comfortable lie offering you the illusion of endless time and opportunity.
But the brutally uncomfortable reality is...
... this is not how it works.
This is not how ANY of this works.
Sure, the easy choice is to shelve your goals until 2026, to let the days slip by without making the push or progress you know you’re capable of.
Again.
But the easy path rarely leads to that which you desire, in golf or in life.
The thing is, with a few good months still ahead, you can choose to view the remainder of this season not as a lost cause but as an opportunity to turn things around.
This is not the time to walk away.
This is not the time to shirk that responsibility to yourself.
This is not the time to settle for cowardice and mediocrity.
This is the time for you to step up.

True story: I often have clients tell me "golf is all about timing".
If it is, then it's not about swing timing (which few understand and even fewer exhibit). No, it's the timing of the beginning a journey.
You know... “The best time to start was yesterday. The next best time is today.”
You’ve seen your handicap slide upward this year, and it’s been frustrating.
The feeling of regression can be demoralising, and it’s easy to get trapped in the negative cycle — bad rounds lead to frustration, frustration leads to more poor rounds, and from there?
Yeah, you get it, don't you?
But (and to me this is the beautiful thing) while a single decision can make things possible... a single action can make things probable.
No, you can't change your game overnight; but you can change your direction in a heartbeat.
Consistent action correctly applied generates changes you, right now, could not even consider.
I have no doubt you may have a multitude of reasons why you shouldn't, and indeed, couldn't embark on a journey of golfing growth and development at this stage in the season.
Fair enough.

They come out a couple of mornings each week, just baked and fresh from the pan.
No nonsense.
No soft-soaping.
No place to hide.
You in?

P.S. Feel free to ignore this message if you wish.
You are free to make any choice you like.
But what you're never free to do is avoid the consequences of your choices.
So choose wisely.
